Mechanic

This position is responsible for maintaining equipment including, but not limited to: diesel trucks, forklifts, vans, and passenger vehicles / pick-up trucks. The right candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience with diesel & gas engines, as well as hydraulics and computer systems including International & Cummings.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
preventative maintenance
tire rotations
brakes
major repairs
transmission
clutch
rear-ends
roadside repair
The right candidate will be a motivated self starter capable of diagnosing mechanical problems and performing necessary repairs. Additionally, organization skills and maintaining ample inventory of necessary preventative parts is required. A clean and neat shop is critical for accuracy and safety so the incumbent must be particularly organized. The position requires a CDL class B license, and a clean driving record, ASE Certification is preferred. The incumbent must keep meticulous notes and maintenance records on the computer as well as paper files.
Other duties may require travelling to parts of Connecticut, Eastern New York, or Rhode Island.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
